Dinner at Cantonment Paradise
It was Adeline's 21st birthday celebration! We managed to trick her into wearing sports attire thinking that we were going to play netball HAHAHA. Jolene drove us over to Dessert Bowl at Serangoon Gardens after dinner and woah their durian mousse is damn good. Played mahjong for a little while at Jolene's place before leaving for home. Kept feeding the winning tiles to everyone so i ended up with 55 pushups as punishment HAHAHA. Hope Adeline liked her 21 gifts from us!
Last day of work at ARVC was alright. Things went rather smoothly throughout the day. Molly treated me to ayam penyet for lunch and Karen treated us to KFC for dinner. Esther dropped by because she accidentally missed her stop at Outram Park but she stayed all the way till i ended work at past 9pm for me. Last day couldn't have been better! Thankful that i've learnt tons of things during my period of stay but i'm so glad that i'm finally done with that place.
Picture taken at Orchard MRT (another awkward place)
Marche is different everywhere and the one at JEM didn't have my rosti i was so sad. We were settling the bill and somehow more money came out and it didn't seem like it was any of ours HAHAHA so moral of story is that we should eat more so we earn money. Our initial plan was to go ice skating at JCube but the plan failed because the queue was insanely long so we decided to be spontaneous and went shopping at Orchard instead. It was a weekend so we managed to get some stuff from the flea market (like my cutie pug pencil case).
They went off while i travelled to Bugis to meet Yihui and Shuhui for buffet dinner at Sukiya. It was not bad and would have been considered cheap if we went on a weekday afternoon instead. Had a good meal and chatting session before Shuhui drove me home. I'm lucky to have nice friends.
Went for some morning basketball the next day, first time back after a one month hiatus and woah it is so satisfying to be back on court. Basketball is really that important to me i guess. It isn't just a sport or an activity with friends, basketball heals my soul when life gets overwhelming. Met my mum for lunch at Kovan after the workout session and we met Gordon at his stall! Poor kid sprained his ankle and was off to see the chinese doctor nearby.
Beautiful colours of the impending sunrise at Yishun dam
And we caught the actual sunrise at Punggol Promenade
Woke up at an ungodly hour because Zhenjie wanted to cycle at 5am. No idea why i agreed to it but i did and i guess it was rewarding although my bicycle (the one Benedick lent me) only allowed me to travel at half his speed even though i was paddling three times as hard. At least i think i burnt more calories that morning. We had wanton mee for breakfast and they walked me to the bus stop after returning the bicycle before they cycled back home.
Basketball the next night was okay. Didn't play alot but we had a good talk during dinner afterwards. Thankful for these guys, who are like my brothers, for helping me and comforting me regarding my contemplation of going overseas or to study locally. I think they care about me sometimes HAHAHA. Although most of the time they dont.
Had lunch with Esther at Pizzahut in Plaza Singapura on another afternoon. Walked over to town afterwards and got our adorable laptop stickers at the basement of SCAPE. We learnt our lesson not to try new things that day because mango sauce for llaollao is worse than having no sauce and finding an alternative way home is always going to be a longer one HAHAHA. Good thing i went home in time to catch my flight to Sydney! (Sydney's stories in the next blog post)
Landed back in Singapore on Monday night and i just went home to sleep. 8 hours of plane ride is kind of agonizing being stuck in that tiny space. It feels good to be home, back in my comfort zone.
Met John in school on Tuesday afternoon to return his book on psychometric tests and also a short catch up. Got home and got changed for basketball already. Reached there early with Melvin (who is always early) and played some matches and took some shots before the rest arrived. It was at least a solid 3 hours of basketball and probably more. Time passed so quickly when you're doing something you love. My recovering sprained foot started to hurt again after that but nonetheless it was one of the most satisfying session i've had for a long time. And of course, i'm craving for more now.
The Bravery
Had lunch at Bravery with these two after Celine replaced the spay hook in RVC from Progress and while Yiting is stuck in her staff meeting at ARVC. Food wasn't good there though. After Yiting was done, we made our way to Orchard for her to source for toner and moisturizer in preparation for her US trip. And in the end, she bought nothing and i replaced my broken foundation bottle HAHAHA. Dinner at TCC was kind of a bad experience too because we waited about 30 minutes with an empty table for our food to arrive. It was a day of bad service but oh well the day is over.
Tired kid is tired now and i shall go to sleep. Basketball again tomorrow evening! Goodnight everyone, love you all, love my brothers, love my friends. Sweet dreams!
