X.

Capture your smile,
Hahaha hello. If you're reading this, i assume you already know me well enough so i guess i don't have to say anything here. But well, if not, you should at least know my name. It's Shiyun.
Oh i'm early for my weekly blog post. Still very drained from the camp but its probably mostly due to my period. Eyes hardly opened and brain barely functioning.

They took us by surprise by saying that among the 20 people we have, we can only bring 6 backpacks worth of things and all items must be in the bag. The rest of our belongings are locked in a crate and sent to Woodlands for storage. I don't know why i wasn't that surprised, kind of expected something like this i guess. So we packed and off we went for our activity.

Amazing race sort of game around Singapore was really cool. We were given $80 total and the details of the stations situated at the east side. It was our choice on what we wanted to do with it, be it buy food, take public transport or whatever else. We got lost while walking to Singapore General Hospital and ended up taking a bus and wasting quite a bit of time. Cash station only got us $10 even though we spent $13 getting there. Next was Tampines to get another $10 and then we walked to Bedok Reservoir to attain our tentage from the station there.

And this was the station

We got to try dragonboating! It was a really cool experience, i mean i always wanted to try. My first water sport activity too. Felt good, hope i get to try it again someday. After that, we went to the nearby econs mart to buy some food and then took the bus to Changi Village.

Set up our tent and had bread for dinner when we got there. It was tough deciding where to sleep because it was too stuffy in the tent, sitting by the sea was painful for my backside cause there were alot of rocks and standing by the sea made my legs sore. Barely slept a wink. It poured in the morning too and we all hid in our tents and wait for the storm to pass. It was a nice experience actually.

Day 2 was another amazing race sort of game around Pulau Ubin. We walked alot but i would have liked it if i weren't having my period. I think it drained the life out of me because my group members all said i was pale and ready to faint any moment and they kept asking whether i was okay every 10 minutes while asking me to eat and drink at intervals HAHAHA. But they were so nice, every concern i got made me strive harder for the camp!

P.S. We saw otters swimming that day! And i spotted a crab. And also a toucan.

Rehearsing our performance after breakfast

Our first station to light the candle

The station where we carried Daniel

And the one we lifted Hannah

The bottle cap station that we struggled with

The bridge we built

Our pair skipping marathon

We found a family of wild boars at Chek Jawa

And our last station

Though we might have a little problem communicating and coming to a common consensus at some point, i believe we all did well. Everyone cared for each other from the bottom of their hearts, that was team spirit for me. Our campfire performance went better than expected even though we forgot a little bit of the moves. We got into top 5! I was really impressed by the efforts put in by the other teams too. Some of them were really cute and funny, others were good singing and dancing! And we had chicken rice that night, which was a luxurious dinner HAHAHA.

It rained again on Day 3 morning. We had our stretching again and we went back to pack up our tents before gathering back at the multi-purpose hall for reflections. We wrote a letter to the future us (4 years later) and MOHH is going to send it back to us then. That's going to be really nice. But my brain wasn't really working then so i can't remember what i wrote anymore HAHAHA. It was funny when we tried to play team games cause we failed quite badly and we kept changing games HAHAHA. We were all too drained out to concentrate.

15 of us here because a few left early

And the last picture with our facilitators

I actually enjoyed the camp (ignoring the fact that i was having my period which gave me a lot of problems) even though it wasn't easy. I think that it was well planned and it has achieved what it wanted to. Got us out of our comfort zone, improved our communication skills, instilled more resilience and strength in us. Thankful for our facilitators that suffered with us and even got scolded for giving us food because we seemed kelian HAHAHA. They helped and guided us along the way and were always supportive of us. Thankful for Jean and Jocelyn for making the video for our performance and Janice for being our group leader and doing so many things. I'm also thankful for every single one of my group members because everyone was so nice and willing to go the extra mile and that feels warm inside.

Melvin came over that night to watch horror movies. I was too tired to tank any jumpscares and my eyes were like closing while watching. It was like the first time in 20 years of my life that i yelped when watching a horror movie LOL i was a joke. I actually made this statement, "Eh UK people actually quite fair horh" only to realise like 2 minutes later that UK people were fair because they are eurasians HAHAHA i was that retarded. I told him all about the camp. Maybe i will be back to be his facilitator next year HAHAHA we'll see.

Today was a nua day. Still pretty drained and everything. Went to Compass Point with my mum and niece and borrowed quite a few comic books back. Got a cardigan from Metro too because they were having a sale and it is pretty HAHAHA my mum wants to get one more in another colour for me LOL. Ate dinner at Mac even though i wasn't having much of an appetite and now i'm back here. Goodnight everyone!
