X.

Capture your smile,
Hahaha hello. If you're reading this, i assume you already know me well enough so i guess i don't have to say anything here. But well, if not, you should at least know my name. It's Shiyun.
So i procrastinated my blog post for like 3 weeks. But i'll probably be back to my weekly update again now that i'm here in Perth for my second semester. End of the catching up with my social life back in Singapore HAHAHA.

And yes i really went out every single day of my winter break LOL. Here goes, continuation from where i left off last blog post.

9 July - Sunday was supposed to be basketball day after camp but we didn't have enough people so i went to the gym with Cher Yong instead. HE LET ME DRIVE HIS CAR FROM MY HOUSE TO HOUGANG GYM HAHAHA I WAS SO HAPPY. Yes i know it was only a 5 minute drive or less but that was fun still. His life was in my hands for 5 minutes HAHAHA but we both survived no fear. Did our own workouts then we went over to Ci Yuan for a drink and talked a little before we both went home.

I'm using my phone's calendar to list out whatever i did because i can't remember anything. This is what ageing does to you HAHAHA. And i haven't been taking photos much this holiday so bear with my wordy post. Or just skip them all HAHAHA that's okay too.

10 July - Went over to NUS/NUH with Yuefeng to get my Philip Yeo book from Peihao while Yuefeng settled his school documents. Traveled back to Serangoon (pain of northeast kids) to buy movie tickets before meeting Zoey for lunch. Can't believe we had to borrow a student ezlink card from a random guy in the arcade because we didn't have Zoey's card with us HAHAHA. He was very willing to lend us his card though! So nice of him! We watched Despicable Me 3 and met up with the rest of the group for dinner afterwards. Becca bought the girls lip tint and since we couldn't see the colour through the packaging, we made the guys try it on for us HAHAHA. It was a good dinner filled with laughter and pink lips.

11 July - Probably spent the afternoon at home and met Ruiling for dinner at Astons in the evening. I made her drink the milk tea from Mos Burger with me after our meal because i was too lazy to walk around town HAHAHA. Again, this is what age does to you. Just wanna sit down with a cup of tea and chat with a friend all the time now. It's good that i get to meet her everytime im back for holidays!!

12 July - Met Peihao at NUH before we made our way to Buona Vista for the fireside chat with Philip Yeo. Turns out i enjoyed the book and the chat way more than i expected myself to! Caught up with some other peeps i haven't seen for a really long time before we went over to Cineleisure to finish up the camp debriefing we had put on hold with William. Really really thankful to have William around to guide us through the learning process and i really appreciate the time and effort he put in for us out of his own accord.

I should have caught up with my stuff earlier because i've forgotten the bulk of everything and my brain isn't really working now but i'll continue so that i can start on my preparation for school tomorrow.

13 July - Went over to Tampines for a gymming session with Mal. Didn't do much because we were lazy kids but less is better than none HAHAHA yay i love this life motto. Totally forgot how Four Fingers tasted like and that day i reminded myself that i don't like Four Fingers HAHAHA i think i'm quite stupid sometimes. Finally reunited with Jamie over dinner that night too!! I only get to see her for such a short period every year because she's a UK kid. Dont like our long distance friendship HAHAHA can't wait for both of us to graduate so we can be on the same sunny island again!

First time trying Nine Fresh and it was good! And affordable!

14 July - IKEA day with my mama (yes again, she loves IKEA). Had our favourite coffee and tea yay. I swear i'm like an auntie now, wanting to drink coffee all day everyday. We tried the almond daim cake this time and it was yumz!! Miss the salmon lasagna already.

15 July - Met Yihui at Bugis for lunch at Astons. Always a short meetup with him but still feels good to see him cause he's like the little brother i never had. And.. i think i went to the gym after that. Healthy living? HAHAHA.

16 July - My last basketball session in Singapore before returning to Perth. Didn't play as long as i did the previous time but i still had a good run with the ball. Gonna miss basketball again when i'm here! But on a side note, can't wait for netball to start again either!

17 July - Had dinner with Jeff at Keisuke Ramen at Cineleisure (i've been to town so many times this holiday yes i know) and tried the crab based soup for the first time! As usual,  i love their beansprouts and they had some cabbage thing at this branch too. Walked around a little and settled at Starbucks for a drink because there was one-for-one! Chose to try the black tea shaken lemonade because i assumed it contained less calories and.. it just tasted like lemon tea HAHAHA lesson learnt. Go for the calories and happy fats.

18 July - Went over to NUH for lunch with Peihao and he brought me to the NUS science canteen which had really cheap food which was good because i haven't had like $2.30 food ever since secondary school HAHAHA. Even Ngee Ann isn't that cheap. Bumped into Evangeline there too! Reminded me that we haven't had the yearly 403 reunion and i guess it's going to be hard organising it this year. Makes me miss the girls!! (Because i still meet the guys anyway HAHAHA i'm not biased)

19 July - So Wednesday was supposed to be a cycling day with my mum to Coney Island but our plan to use the obike failed because she was too short for the bicycle HAHAHA. That was funny. We ended up heading towards Compass One where i bought macarons (yay macarons) and we tried the chendol icecream from Macdonalds. Zero calories lost, hundreds gained HAHAHA but happy fats are good so oh well. Went over to my grandma's house for dinner too! I love family gatherings. Used to be a weekly thing but it's sad that we're all busy now.

I'm so tired i'm gonna take a break from blogging. Maybe i should continue this tomorrow. Or another day HAHAHA.
And i'm back so...

20 July - Made my way to Boon Keng to have lunch with Ivan during his lunch break. It was the second last day of his internship anyway so he took a longer lunch than usual HAHAHA (no i'm not a bad influence). Finally had my traditional soya bean milk after so long and it was so affordable too! Parents came over to pick me up to visit the temple in the afternoon. Got some time to rest before heading out again to meet Noel for dinner. Glad that nothing changed even after graduating for 2 years! He's still the same blur kid that i bully HAHAHA (i always forget he's a year older than me).

21 July - Had Toastbox for lunch at Vivocity with Mal and Dr Grace. It was a really good catchup over coffee and toasts! Feeling like an old soul talking about life over a traditional breakfast HAHAHA. Still one of the best teachers out there, genuinely caring about her students and working with strong values. Thankful to have been her student once and now a friend! Mal and I decided to pay Amanda a visit at NUH (she was down with prolonged fever) after lunch. Thankful for Peihao because he saved our lost souls HAHAHA he brought us to her ward and to the mrt afterwards too. Hospitals are confusing. Left earlier to have dinner at home. Homecooked meals are the best.

22 July - Hard Knocks Cafe 2017 at Ngee Ann on a Saturday morning. It feels good to be back in school, especially knowing that i'm kinda helping out in some way. Happy to catch up with some peeps whom i haven't seen for a long time too! Format this year was a little different, preferred the way it was last year but still a good chatting session with the juniors all in all.

Our second Hard Knocks Cafe together! (why does my feet look so awkward)

And i think this is going to be a long post HAHAHA.

So my dad came to pick me and Peihao from Ngee Ann to Woodlands checkpoint where we met Yifen and Xinmei before going over to Johor Bahru! Got through the usual jam at Malaysia customs, settled our phone card and took a grab to our airbnb at KSL! Love the cosy studio apartment. We tried the KFC over there because everyone raves about the KFC in Malaysia before we hopped onto a cab to sing karaoke HAHAHA. Funny how our free flow drink was honey lemon, healing our throats as we sing till we lose our voices. We had affordable zichar for dinner/supper too hehe it was satisfying. Back at home, we ended the day with a pseudo pillow fight and card games HAHAHA.

Looks like a family photo LOL

We tried

Peihao grew hungry in the middle of the night so we decided to hunt for food outside while the other two slept away. Then we found prata HAHAHA and the day was saved because no one went hangry.

23 July - We got up early and made our way to the Go Kart place after taking some photos at the pool.

This is what long distance friendship does to you - being overly attached

Favourite photo HAHAHA Xinmei's shocked face

And us!

Here we are after 10 minutes of driving our Go Kart with the race course in the background

We look so neatly arranged HAHAHA

And fun shot. Grab driver was so nice to wait for us and take these photos!

And we went bowling too! Haven't had S$2.50 per game rate since i was in lower secondary

Because Yifen wasn't satisfied with the previous shot

We had bakuteh for lunch, checked out of our airbnb and shopped around KSL for a little while before going over to LOST @ JB. First time playing the escape room and the horror theme was fun!! I realised that i accidentally selected the scariest and most difficult theme HAHAHA but i guess that made the experience even better. Weak-hearted me screamed a little too much at everything but i can't wait for the next escape room!!

I probably aged 10 years after getting out of it.

Headed back to City Square Mall and had dinner at a nearby cafe before slowly making our way back to Singapore. Short staycation it was but we did alot more than we initially planned for. Counting down to our next JB adventure in 2018!

24 July - Ate at Old Airport Road for the first time (yes i know, i must be a caveman) with Gordon in the afternoon and the prawn noodles were really yummy! I got my traditional soyabean milk at like 80cents so i was a very happy kid that day HAHAHA. We walked over to get some Tanjong Rhu charsiewbaos for our mums before making our way to Beach Road because he needed some fishing equipment. Wanted to get one of the small army backpacks for trekking but it was a little pricey so i decided otherwise. Mum cooked dinner that night and i was a potato for the whole evening until i was supposed to head out to meet Joel to catch up over some tea at Ci Yuan CC (my new favourite hangout place LOL CAUSE ITS SO NEAR and airy and cooling and they have traditional kaya butter toasts). When i say tea, i really meant like lemon tea and ice tea HAHAHA. But it was good seeing him again!!

25 July - Had lunch with Melvin at Ci Yuan CC (told you it was my new favourite hangout place) before we traveled down to SIT for free table pool hehe. We played for like a good 5 hours HAHAHA it was fun though. And out of so many games, i won 6, and 5 was because Melvin hit in the black ball wrongly LOL. Got to work on my table pool skills. Met Ivan, Weepin and Vincent at Ci Yuan CC (yes, again) for a late dinner and guess what i had - traditional kaya butter toasts HAHAHA i was happy eating it though. Strangely addicted to it. Good seeing them more than once a year during CNY and i finally got to meet Vincent again after years!! Love it when my friends stay in Hougang HAHAHA.

26 July - Accompanied my mum to her ultrasound appointment and we had coffee at Ci Yuan CC (i should stop LOL) afterwards because i was craving for some. My coffee addiction is real now. Rested a little back at home before John picked Jamie and I up at Newton to have dinner at the Polo Club. Fish and chips there was good and dinner talk was even better. Always thankful that i had the opportunity to go for OMA and that i met John because without OMA every bit of my life would have been different now. Life worked out after all.

27 July - Thursday was a day out with Peihao! Can't believe we had our three meals together LOL. It's been such a long time since i went ice-skating, i almost forgot how to skate. But i didn't HAHAHA and i survived not falling in a dress. We played a little bit of pool and made friends with some cutiepies at We The Furballs. So happy that i finally got to visit the dog cafe! Been wanting to go there since forever.

I CANT DECIDE WHICH PHOTO IS CUTER SO HERE'S BOTH HAHAHA. This silly furball is sooo adorable. She was our favourite! She could do sit, wait and paw. Whenever she wants a treat, she'll just plop her head, like literally plop, on your leg and stare at you with those gorgeous puppy eyes. I admit defeat HAHAHA.

Waffles the corgi came to snuggle with me. Super naughty but still cute though!!

HAHAHA LOOK AT WAFFLES 偷看-ing

We caught Spiderman after dinner at Serangoon too! Movie was better than expected even though i was never big on Marvel. Reached home 10 minutes passed midnight and my mum didn't scold me yay! Is she finally allowing me to grow up HAHAHA. Thankful for the day spent together!

28 July - Had my favourite traditional breakfast with Mama goh before i started packing my luggage. Dad sent us to the airport and we had lunch with Mal, her mum and Christy! Flight back to Perth was good this time because i finally got to fly together with Mal HAHAHA. We had TWG macarons before we flew and because i wanted coffee so bad i ordered one on the plane LOL. I need to stop this coffee madness. Went back home and had potato noodles for dinner. I missed potato noodles HAHAHA gonna buy some back to Singapore the next time round.

29 July - Which was yesterday. Spent it cleaning the house and doing some grocery shopping! Now we're full of food again HAHAHA. Ming's bunking in with us until Thursday so yay for an extra friend till then!

30 July - And today is the last day of my holidays. We headed out for some icecream HAHAHA the earl grey milk tea gelato was yummy!! Well, anything earl grey is yummy. I should be doing my prereadings but i'm so lazy. But i will get my shit together and start some after i'm done with this mask.

Yes i'm using a mask for the first time in 22 years of my life cause i didn't want to waste the ones Xinmei got for me from Korea. So... i'm sitting here in front of my laptop looking like a dragon now. And i don't ever want to use a mask again because it's so cold and weird and slimy and cold.

I want more holidays :(
