Just concluded HSIC 2017 today (unofficially because we still have reports to churn out). The 3 days 2 nights went by quicker than the previous two i attended and i survived on a total of 5 hours of sleep for the whole camp without having my signature shag face so i'm glad HAHAHA. We met a few crises along the way, most of them to do with water (rain, washing of floors), but we managed to get over them anyway and the camp went relatively smoothly. Really thankful that we got to work with William again because he's always ready to support and guide us through leading this camp. It was a different kind of experience looking at the camp from a different perspective in a different role, i definitely learnt a lot in the process. Proud of my committee members, facilitators and station masters too! Everyone did so well and i'm glad we went through the camp together. So heartwarming to see people caring for one another, putting others before themselves.
Right before we kick started the camp (fresh faces)
At the end of camp (all them Asian eyes)

So catching up with the few weeks that have passed with a timeline...
20th June - Reached Singapore, gymmed and had dinner with Henry. He got me admin tees yay! Now i'm part of the navy too HAHAHA.
21st June - Dinner with Peiyun, Lynn and the camp committee members
22nd June - Visited Gordon's mum over lunch at Kovan and met Mal, Shana, Amanda, Cristy and Felisa for dinner. Can't remember the shop name but their yuzu tea was pretty good! Yay to yuzu! Also, can't believe i had 2 western dishes on the 3rd day i flew from Australia.
23rd June - Had a brief presentation at MOHH and a brief shopping session (for her) with Xinmei afterwards
24th June - Met Tianhao and Jasmund for kekoumian/banmian at Xinmin for lunch and since Mr Kiang couldn't make it for full band practice and Nigel wasn't in town to conduct sectionals, i convinced them to go to the gym with me HAHAHA. We went to Jasmund's gym at Regentville which had almost nothing, then moved on to Hougang Activesg but it was too crowded so we ended up at Punggol Safra. Lesson learnt that day: Check prices of private gyms before going (because we went at peak hour and my entry fee was $16.70, ouch)
25th June - Had brunch with mama Goh at Ciyuan CC before playing basketball at 918 with the usual peeps. Feels so good to be at a sport for 5 hours or more again!
26th June - Met Jianghui and Zijie for KFC lunch at Punggol Waterway. Got Zijie's work shoes (which are classic black converse shoes for P.S. Cafe, i didn't know) before heading over to her place. Made friends with her cat and now i miss Mogz so much :'( Shall insert a photo of her taken by Joel before i continue with my timeline.
LOOK AT MY QTPIE
Okay moving on.
27th June - Met Adam to gym at Gymboxx Bedok but he was being lazy and i was being lazy so we didn't do that much that day. Tried Paik's bibimbap for the first time and it was good i liked it! But quoting Adam, it was really "$10菜饭" HAHAHA. Got home to wash up before meeting Yuefeng, Zhiyi, Siwei and Rebecca for dinner at Angmokio. Yay for zichar food heheh. I finally satisfied my Mcflurry craving too, finally a Mcflurry that doesn't cost $5. Australia woes.
28th June - First day of dry run for Amazing Race around Singapore. Ironed out our problems and settled some program/logistics issues. Had dinner with the peeps at Tampines before heading home too!
29th June - Second day of dry run for SIT test at Pulau Ubin. Recced the huts and available spaces for our stations and mapped out the route. Got the facilitators to try out the games so that was a pretty fun bonding day! Had a quick dinner at Changi Village then William drove Yifen, Xinmei and I to Tampines so that it is easier for us to get home. Thankful! Managed to make it in time to send Shana off for her exchange in Korea at the airport at night too!
Iconic T2 photo HAHAHA
30th June - Had precamp briefing in the morning and met the campers for the first time. Wanted to chill with some llaollao with Yifen and Xinmei but was dying from fever so i concussed back at home HAHAHA. Revived again at night and met Mal for prata dinner at RK! We had durian mousse and some strawberry dessert at 一碗甜品 too. Fat buddies for life. Dad came to pick me to Hougang One with my mum and the little kids afterwards.
1st July - Met the Kovan basketball guys for I'm Kim bbq buffet lunch before heading to playnation for board games. It was really fun/funny because we had like 11 of us, a total public nuisance oops HAHAHA. Had dinner at the new ramen shop in Kovan and icecream at Ice Edge Cafe. It was like a bonding day camp for us especially since we haven't met each other for so long!
Jonathan and Justin left early for something and Joshua haven't joined us because he had band practice but wow full attendance
2nd July - Whole day of basketball from about 3 until over 9pm. I miss those days where we just stay on court from morning till the lights go off at the court. Glad i got to have some of those sessions again this winter break! Gonna miss basketball so much when i'm back in Australia again.
3rd July - Replacement training for facilitators at MOHH. Xinmei treated us Hanuta yay i love Hanuta! Made it back home in time to gym a little with Jolene at her friend's condo. Did my arms and some abs but i was too tired/lazy (choose one) to do anything else HAHAHA but less is better than nothing right heheh that's my motto.
4th July - Had lunch at Dancing Crab with the camp committee members. Thankful for the treat from MD! Seafood was good is good and will always be good HAHAHA. Got home to rest a little bit before heading out for some good old bakuteh with Yuefeng, Yijie and Eunice. Decided to take the healthy alternative when we were deciding whether to walk or to take bus to our dessert destination but ended up detouring slightly and accidentally burning more calories than we expected HAHAHA. Worst part was, dessert was disappointing :( Oh well, you don't try you never know.
5th July - Had lunch at home and coffee with mama Goh at Ciyuan CC. Yes i'm legitly a coffee addict now HAHAHA damn i'm getting old aren't i. Met Eugene for dinner at City Square Mall. Thankful that he planned the night! We had Din Tai Fung (finally satisfied my 蛋炒饭 and 小笼包 cravings heheh) and dessert at Creamery (the place with icecream on lava cookies)! Tried the Secret Garden flavour which was some kind of tea infused with charcoal and it tasted pretty unique. Eugene doesn't like matcha so we had the chocolate cookie instead. Gonna return someday for the matcha one for sure. He brought me around exploring the area a little too! It was a good catch up that night.
At some organic supermarket LOL (where i bought teabags, what's new)
And 6th to 8th July was the camp up till today. I was serious when i said i've been busy with social life HAHAHA. Gonna turn in soon, hopefully i'm still tired enough to sleep. Technically, i should still have a sleep debt so oh well. Goodnight world! Have a good Sunday ahead everyone! :)
